A 35-year-old man recruit of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) dropped dead during a ritual to welcome him into GRA’s academy at Kpetoe in the Kpetoe District of the Volta Region.
Senior Cadet George Annor, according to a Police Situational Report sighted by GhanaNewsPage.Com ‘collapsed and was rushed to the Kpetoe Health Center’.
The report continued that he offered first aid but was pronounced dead upon arrival.
The body has since been deposited at the mortuary.

On 01/04/2019 at about 1230 hours ARO. Senior Officer Benjamin Kwasi Fufagbi of GRA. Academy, Kpetoe accompanied by Assistant Commissioner Appiah Waden Junior of the same address came to Kpetoe Police Station and the former reported that on Sunday, 31/3/2019 at about 1300 hours Senior Cadets reported at the Academy for training and in the process of arrival exercise to get them initiated into the Academy, Senior Cadet George Annor, now deceased, aged about 35 years collapsed and was rushed to the Kpetoe Health Center where he was given first aid and referred to the Volta Regional Hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.
Police visited the mortuary at the said Hospital and inspected the body of the deceased on the slab and observed that there were fresh wounds on both knees of the deceased.
Body deposited at the same mortuary for preservation and on wards conveyance to police Hospital, Accra for autopsy. Further developments will be communicated to you in due course.
