Tumu Police Deters Youth from Stopping Rosewood Harvesting

The youth of Tumu town have accosted an articulator truck fully loaded with Rose wood leaving the township and hence have impounded the contents.

The action of the youth emanated from the recent re-ban of the harvesting, transportation and exportation of rosewood within the country. This action comes after a public outcry from the Three Northern regions in the country.
Just minutes after stopping the truck and trying to off load the wood pieces from them, the youth who are members of a vigilante group in the Municipality were stormed by a team of police officers who  drove in a Police land cruiser pic-up vehicle embossed with a registration number Gp 3164.

The police intimidated the youth by threatening to shoot anyone of them who dare stop them taking custody of the two trucks containing the ban substances called rosewood.
The Police officers counter action was met with a fierce resistance from the vigilante youth which ostensibly, scared the police to retreat, but before the police left the scene, they did  vow to facilitate the illegal activities of rosewood merchants for reasons known to themselves and against state order.
