Candidates for this year’s Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) in the Nabdam District of the Upper East Region have been cushion to enable them have a very smooth examinations unlike their colleagues elsewhere.
The Nabdam District Education Directorate has a total number of seven hundred and forty-one (741) registered candidates who will be sitting for this year’s BECE slated for 10th June, 2019 – 15th June, 2019 across the country. It is against this backdrop that,the member of parliament saw the need to help them prepare his constituents have a hassle free examinations .
Presenting some 800 exercise books and 800 Mathematical sets to the students, the Member of Parliament for Nabdam, Hon. Dr. Mark Kurt Nawaane said that the education of his constituents will continue to be a priority so long as he represents them in parliament. He mentioned that the exercise books and mathematical sets presented to them are to be distributed to the candidates as they prepare to take their examinations in come June this year.
‘‘You children have just five years ahead of you to be called adults. You will be expected to start contributing your quota to the development of Nabdam and Ghana at large in the next few years. I want you pupils to take the future into your own hands and make me proud in your coming examinations. This donation is to equip you with the tools needed to prepare adequately for the examinations. And I want to take this opportunity to wish you all the best of luck.’’ the M.P admonished the students.
In addition the above presentation, the M.P also presented a cheque worth Ten Thousand, Two Hundred and Fifty Ghana Cedis (GHc10, 250.00) to the Education Directorate to assist them prepare the students for the impending examinations.
Receiving the donations, the District Director of Education, Timothy Naasal Yuornuo could not hide his appreciation to the law maker for the kind gesture. He recollected the good things he had heard about the M.P before he assumed office in 2018. He said the donations was timely and promised to use the money for the its intended purpose.
“Let me express our utmost appreciation to Hon. Dr. Mark Nawaane for this initiative. His kindness and vision for this District is an indication of a good leadership. I have heard and seen a lot concerning your works for this constituency and we are very proud of you.”
“You organized extra classes for our children at the SHS level and you provided a bus for their transportation to and fro the classes. That’s remarkable and we are very grateful to you for your interventions.” Mr. Yuornuo concluded.
