CALM HAS BEEN RESTORED IN GWOLLU TOWNSHIP FOLLOWING YESTERDAY’S CHAOS

Calm has since returned to the District captial Gwollu following the intervention of the Regional minister  Mr.Sulemana Alhassan and his Deputy Mr.Amidu Issahaku Chinnia who swiftly drove in to subdue tensions and ostensibly find lasting solution to the friction between feuding parties.

It would be recalled that some youth of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the area went on rampage and locked up the District Chief Executive’s office.

The chaos was a resultant effect of who to occupy the position of MASLOC District Coordinator for the Sissala West.

As Mr.Mamuru Forkah a.k.a Ashantiman ”a party workaholic”  was recommended to occupy the position by the Constituency chairman Mr.Kanchuo Ibrahima Dramani on the contrary Mr. Abudu Babua Walinmere allegedly with the pre-requisite qualification was also been recommended by the DCE.

Tensions got heightened when information available to the chairman MR.Abudu Babua Walinmere was finaly agrred to occupy the MASLOC  position at the expense of Mr.Ashantiman

An altercation between the party chairman and the DCE in the DCE’s office got him furious and hence went and mobilize party youth to come and cause mayhem.

A swift response from the police and the deputy Regional Minister helped to quench the situation from escalating into something disastrous.
