A NEW HEALTH CARE FACILITY COMMISSIONED IN TUMU

With the upsurge in human population and the quest among all to have access to quality health care in the District couple with penetration of private individuals into the sector to augment the existing few ones ; a new health care facility by name’’ Staff of Hope Clinic’’ was commissioned in Tumu the District capital of the Sissala East to augment the already existing health facilities in and around the area.

The commissioning of the private health facility saw the presence of stakeholders such as the representative of the D.C.E, the country coordinator of Virtue foundation Mr.Mohammed Bataglia, C.E.O of ASUDEVE Mr.Kanton Luriwie Osman,a locally-based  non-governmental organization headquartered in the District, representative of SAVE-GHANA also a locally-based NGO in the district, managers of various business enterprises in town, the representative of the District health Director in the name of Mr. Kanton Luriwie Issah, and other many well-wishers who came to grace the occation.

The acting Director of the new health facility Mr Sidik Mumuni intimated his quest to give back to the society and hence the drive behind this intervention and would therefore strive to provide quality health care to his people. He enumerated services that will be rendered and which includes but not limited to: General out-patient Consultation, Detension/admission, Basic Laboratory Services, Antenatal Services and Ultrasound Services

Speaking at the commissioning of the new health facility, Mr Kanton Luriwie Issah reiterated the commitment of his outfit to the delivery of quality health care to the people as their topmost priority. He said to enable us achieve this priority service provider should adhere strictly to the code of ethics in the health service and ought not to be compromised in any circumstance. He concluded by commending the acting director of the new facility for the intervention and asked for effective collaboration so as to provide quality health care services to the people.

Also at the commissioning, the Director of ASUDEVE Mr. Osman Kanton made it known that, the facility was timely since our public health facilities are compromising on quality health care delivery due to the impotency of the NHIS and their indebtedness to service providers. He therefore made a passionate appeal to the management of the new facility to give preference to the vulnerable in society such as of children, women and the aged.

The assembly member for the area where the facility is located during  his speech asked for confidentiality as a hallmark in their course of the work at the health facility for the attitude of disclosing patients status to public deter people from attending health facilities, It was also in his speech that, he revealed such untoward practice of making patient status known to third party has being the bane of some health care persons at the District hospital for now and hence the reason some people don’t patronize their services. He needed his speech by soliciting for effective collaboration and support to for this new facility to see to the light of the day.

The occasion successfully came to conclusion after participants were taken through the various units and the necessary certification acquired to operate the facility.
